Introduced in 2012, Dish Network's high speed satellite Internet service, called dishNet, is a latest addition to the Dish Network product line.

What is dishNET?

dishNET is simply the name that the Dish Network company gave to its Internet service.

Explain how Dish Internet works?

When you buy Dish Internet service you'll get a satellite dish plus a satellite modem. When you log on to the Internet, your computer sends a signal to the modem which will send out the signal to the dish. The signal is forwarded to a satellite which bounces that signal to a receiving station.

When a website is located, the signal the signal is then sent from the receiving station, to the satellite, and straight down to your laptop or computer.

How fast is dishNET?

With Dish Network you get download speeds of up to 10 Mbps, as well as upload speeds as high as 2 Mbps, That is 100 times faster than dialup service.

Can I get their satellite service in my area?

No matter where you are located in the U.S., you can receive high-speed service. All you need is a clear, unobstructed view of the southern sky.

Exactly what does this service cost?

Fees start at $39.99 a month if bundled with Dish Network television service, or $49.99 without having their service.

What other costs are there?

dishNET requires a $10 equipment lease charge in addition to a $99 account activation fee. But, that activation charge will be waived once you subscribe to Dish Network TV service or if you are a current DISH customer.

How do I receive the discount?

To receive this $10 a month discount you need to subscribe to Dish Network's Top 20 package or above, or dishLatino or above in combination with your Internet service.

Exactly what are data caps?

Data caps are the month-to-month limits on the quantity of data you're allowed to upload and download to your laptop or computer.

Does disNET have data caps?

Based on the plan you purchase, the data caps are 10 GBs, 20 GBs, 30 GBs each month.

Can I keep track of the data I use?

To determine the amount of data that you have used, visit mydish.com and click on the "Usage" tab.

If I upload and download more data than my data cap allows, what happen?

Whenever you surpass the data cap your download speeds will be throttled down till the the following month.

Are there charges for going beyond the data cap?

No. They will never charge for surpassing your data useage.
